A little about me...
I grew up on an acreage (five acres, to be exact) in the country, three miles from a small town in Iowa. My childhood consisted of outdoor adventures: fort building, creek stomping, four wheeling, and walking in the nearby pastures and woods. I developed a love for animals, as we always had a few cats and a dog.
I attended the University of Northern Iowa and studied Communications with a minor in Journalism. I became involved with the University student newspaper, The Northern Iowan, and enjoyed writing and photographing various on campus events. In finishing my degree, I interned at Iowa Hospice as a Marketing Intern and wrote several human interest pieces. I shadowed social workers, nurses, and music therapists in their day to day work. I thoroughly enjoyed interviewing and writing each article, hearing many inspiring testimonials from the staff.
After graduating, I traveled to California and hiked Mt. Whitney along with parts of the Pacific Crest Trail before moving to Missoula, Montana. Originally, I had planned on a commercial photography program in Iowa following my Bachelor's Degree, but the mountains were calling my name and I moved westward. I soon realized my fascination of photography continued to follow me and I decided to pursue the Summer Intensive Program at Rocky Mountain School of Photography in 2012. I loved the program and felt incredibly blessed to be able to sharpen my skills and passion in portraiture. I enjoy shooting engagement, senior, wedding, children, and family portraiture and welcome you to contact me to provide imagery with my particular style. I look forward to speaking with you!
